Title Benjamin Gratz Brown
Description Photograph of a portrait of Benjamin Gratz Brown, when he was governor of Missouri. A bearded Gratz is standing holding a rolled up piece of paper. To his left, there is a table with books on it. The books are placed in an unorderly fashion. Books are also on the floor peeking out from under the draped table. On the other side of him, there is a chair. On the back of the photograph it reads: "For Mrs. Scott, Painted by A. G. Powers [?]. January 1872." Mary Yoder Brown Scott was Benjamin Gratz Brown's half-sister.
