Maria Prince Beckley was married to John J. Beckley, an American political campaign manager and the first Librarian of the United States Congress, from 1802 to 1807. Maria was a friend of Margaretta Mason Brown's from New York and John Beckley was friendly with John Brown. It is possible that the Beckleys introduced the Browns. When her husband died in 1807, she moved to Kentucky. |
