Notes	Mary Brown Humphreys is the sister of John Brown. In 1788, she married Dr. Alexander Humphreys. They had six children, one was Betsey Humphreys who would marry Robert Todd and become the step-mother to Mary Todd Lincoln. Dr. Humphreys taught both Samuel Brown and Preston Brown in medicine. Mary's husband died in 1802. Eventually she moved to south Frankfort to be closer to her brothers.
