Cabinet card of a portrait miniature of Margaretta Mason Brown. The miniature is owned by Liberty Hall Historic Site and dates to the 1790s. Her hair is down and curly. Handwritten note reads: "Mrs. Margaretta Mason Brown from an ivory miniature painted by Ben ?. West (?). Eyes dark brown hair red brown." The studio's imprint is at the bottom of the card and it reads: "Mattern, Frankfort, Kentucky." There is a plaid-pattern border at the bottom of the card between the image and the studio's imprint. |
