Description |
Silver daguerrotype of Orlando Brown (1801-1867) as a middle-aged man. He is wearing a black coat, satin vest, white shirt, and black cravat. The daguerreotype is framed in a double elliptical mat, covered by a piece of glass, and enclosed in a brass frame (called a preserver). Two small hook and eyelet closures on the side of the daguerreotype were used to open and close the case. The daguerreotype is in a leather-covered wooden case with red felt lining. |
