Cabinet card of an oval photograph of Mary Mason Scott (1867-1934). She is wearing a velvet dress with a shoulder buckle on her left shoulder. Her hair is pulled up and back and her hands are folded in her lap. At the bottom of the picture, there is the studio's logo and it reads:"C.M. Bell, Washington D.C." On the back of the photograph is C.M. Bell's studio imprint, an ornate design with a leaf and berry edge and a dragon encircled behind this text: "Instantaneous process used exclusively, Artist C.M. Bell Photography, 463 and 465 Penn. Ave, West End Branch, 701 Fifteenth St. Washington D.C., Duplicates can be had at any time." A handwritten note on the back reads: "Mary Mason Scott 1891 Feb 18th" |
