Description |
Lid of a six-sided Chinese export porcelain container. Rose Canton pattern. Container has three parts: a base, lid, and liner. Base and lid are hexagonal. Base and lid both have green background with blue borders and pink, blue, and green floral decoration. Base and lid have white medallion on one side with flowers inside. Lid is topped with gold lion finial. Base has two twisted brass bail handles, handles have face decorations. Liner is slightly shallower than base and has gold rolled rim. Liner rim rests on top of base and under lid. This box may been used to store tea. |
