This watercolor painting depicts what appears to be Benson Creek in Franklin County, with the Benson Creek Bridge in the distance. Benson Creek empties into the Kentucky River at the point of the bridge. The bridge was built around 1880. There are two flat-bottomed boats (johnboats) in the right foreground of the painting. Trees overhang the boats. Written on the back of the painting it reads in pencil: "Benson $35" |
