Description |
One color lithograph of a series of three from La Lidia, a magazine about bull fighting that was produced in the late 1800s. The image is titled A Brindar, or To Provide, and shows three matadors in the ring, one dead bull with blood, and another one at the edge of the ring. There is a crowd of people in the stands, that are numbered 1, 1, and 2. On the left-hand side it reads "Imp. y. Lit. de J. Palacios" and on the right-hand side it reads "Arenal 27, Madrid." There is a signature in green ink on the left and one in black on the right that reads, "D. Perea." Daniel Perea was a painter and draftsperson. The print originally appeared in a copy of La Lidia, the fold down the middle of the print is still visible. The top should say "La Lidia" but appears to have been cut off. The print is adhered to a piece of cardboard. |
