Portrait of John Preston Watts Brown (1815-1850). John PW Brown I was the son of Dr. Preston Brown, John Brown's brother. Oil on canvas. This painting is unsigned but has been attributed to Tennessee artist, Washington Bogart Cooper (1802-1889). Brown lived in Nashville at the time Cooper was the principal portraitist there. |
