Liberty Hall |
Description |
A watercolor painting of Liberty Hall painted by Florence French Jackson (March 31, 1873-April 2, 1970). Jackson was from Frankfort and lived close to Liberty Hall, on Watson Court. She also wrote poetry. There are two trees at the street's edge, the fence is painted white, and the plexiglass doors are on the Liberty Hall entrance. A large tree is also visible in the front yard that does not appear in photographs from the second half of the 20th century. It is unclear exactly when this was painted but it is probably around the 1930s/1940s. There are also shrubs inside the gate, that appear in the HABS' photos from 1934, but here they are a bit more overgrown. |
