Description |
Kutani ware, shoza-style Japanese export porcelain bowl with red/orange designs including an orange, floral design with butterflies on the inside of the dish. Shoza style is characterized by its gold coloring on a base of red imagery. Birds are depicted on the outer side of the bowl. The rim of the dish is decorated with a dark, red, abstract pattern. The exterior displays a mix of patterns, all painted in the same red-orange color as the interior. There are three Japanese characters painted in red on the bottom of the dish. |
