Description |
Cherry secretary with a bookcase on top and a fall-front desk on the bottom. The top has a cornice of beveled molding with inlaid dot-and-dash band detail. The top has two single panel doors with keyholes and locks. Inside the bookcase are three adjustable shelves. Inside the desk are six drawers (two long and four short) over eight pigeon holes. In the middle is a separate locking compartment with a door that has two drawers inside. On either side of a center compartment are vertical pieces that slide out to reveal secret letter compartments. All the pulls inside the fall and on the lopers are brass knobs. The drawers have brass bails. There is skirt at the bottom of the desk. The back board is poplar. |
