Margaretta grew up at Liberty Hall. In 1871, she married William F. Barret, an attorney in Louisville. She had two boys, Mason and Frank. Upon the death of her husband in 1882, she moved from Louisville to Frankfort and lived with her 2 sisters in Liberty Hall. She was active in club work and public affairs. Barret was a Colonial Dame, Vice-Regent for Kentucky in the Mt. Vernon Association, a Daughter of the American Revolution and was the first President of the Frankfort Woman's Club. |
